one of "them" days
We were able to fish today, the first day all week. We will get to fish tomorrow, Saturday, then that is it for who knows how long. There is a bad cold front coming through Sunday morning. It is suppose to be the coldest temps yet this year. And the wind is to be 30 to 35 miles per hour. I caught fish today but I had one hell of a day. My husband and I talked it over and decided that fishing around the inlet we will not yell at the sports who come in on top of us trying to fish. It is just the new world order. The last time I fished I did good by not saying anything when this guy ran through not once but twice where I was catching, I just stood there staring at him, it is only 3 foot deep and he succeeded in running the fish off, so neither of us caught any. Today I had just caught a pompano and this boat with 3 guys in it saw me catch it. They came close to me and stopped where they would drift on top of my line. I did not say anything I watched and they were almost on top of my line and I nicely said, hey you are going to drift on top of my line, they ignored me so I say it again, still being nice, still being ignored, then I say you are on top of my line and one of them says no, your line is under my boat, well I was not nice anymore. I am not proud of myself but I cussed at them and reel my line in and threw it back out, it went over their boat and over the line of the guy fishing out the other side of their boat. The mouthy one tells me he is calling the law that I do not know who I am messing with he said he is well known in this town I told him to go ahead and call them. He must not be that important because the law never came. I wish I would have told him he is not much of a fisherman if he thinks that spot is the only place where there are fish. They finally moved, my husband saw what went on and he said when they came by him they did not have their FL numbers on their boat. I really wished the law would have showed up so I could have pointed that out to them. I have to look it up to be sure, but someone told me it is a felony to interfere with commercial fishing activity. After I got weighed up at the fish house I was backing out and my fender on the boat trailer hit one of the owners kids car. Luckily it just scratched some paint off and she told me it was not worth filing an insurance claim and calling the law, tomorrow I am going to tell her to get some touch up paint to match and I will pay for it. I feel that is the least I could do, I feel really bad about it. I was watching my upright on the trailer and forgot my fenders stick out further that the uprights. I did make it home without anything else happening, which was a very good feeling. I caught 41 pounds and my husband had 24, so we made a paycheck.
Wow
