Wednesday Walk
This is my post for #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
My cousin called and said he had a bunch of fishing poles for us, he has Parkinson's. While at his house we took a walk around his yard. He has two horses
This one is his granddaughters
I have never had homegrown grapes that were good, they are always thick skinned, but his are very good. They are growing on the horse's fence, he said they love them, too.
I picked some to take home.
This is a stag-horn fern
I had never heard of self-pollinating dragon fruit, he gave me cuttings. I have dragon fruit but you have to have two different kinds to make fruit, which I have.
This old oak covered his entire back yard, it fell this year. He told me the story of several years ago there was a swing under it, he was working in the yard when a storm came up, so he sat on the swing, waiting for it to pass, he said he did not have his feet on the ground when lightning hit the tree. He said it left a singed mark on the back of his neck.
Catlyn Guavas
These are grapefruit
Tangerines
Peach blooms
He gave us a bunch of fishing poles. I have been wanting a good jigging rod and reel but did not want to pay over 100 dollars for one, he gave me 3 of them. I feel blessed when things like that happen.
Sorry to hear your Cousin has parkinson but so nice of him to give you the fishing Riods, Looks like a nice walk by his place, Home Grown grapes are the best I think
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
@tattoodjay thank you, it is a terrible disease, he loves to fish and hunt and can no longer do them, it is so sad. Maybe growing grapes in the Florida heat gives them tough skins, they were a little tough but so sweet and not to tough to eat. His yard is full of all types of food trees.
Yes it is such a cruel disease :(
I remember still to today picking grapes from myself uncles vine when. Was young I swear I ate more than ended up n my basket
@tattoodjay I thought I had enough grapes to make a couple of jars of jelly, but we ate them all.
LOL maybe there is never enough grapes lOL
Oh! I'm glad you got all those goodies!
