I grew up in the age of vinyl. Dad had a nice Teac turntable, and we were instructed to use the velvet wiper thing with the nice wooden handle. It had a hole open on one side with a bottle of cleaning fluid, quite like this one:
My uncle took it one step further with his turntable setup, as he had this electric gadget that would somehow pull the static off each record like a magic wand.
