First in 2,000 Years: The Eagle Huntress
Growing up in the rugged steppes of the Altai mountains (Mongolia), Aisholpan has always shown a talent and passion for handling the formidable golden eagle. For centuries, these nomadic Kazakh herders have used golden eagles to hunt; for the past 2,000 years, all hunters have been men. Now, 13-year old Aisholpan is upsetting that tradition by being the first female huntress.
The documentary, Eagle Huntress, was a favorite at Sundance and received standing ovations. The 21st cen. will be the century of women. US will have its first female president, joining the ranks of Germany, Taiwan, Great Britain...etc. We live in interesting times.
