How to Use Eyeshadow for Highlighter

Eyeshadow is one of many great ways to naturally enhance your make-up. It’s needless to buy more highlighting products if you already have the right tools at home. In this tutorial, I show you how easy it is to get that beautiful glow by using just a bit of eyeshadow.

Tools you will need:

• Shimmer eyeshadow
• Clean fingers or a small face brush
• (Optional: small eyeshadow brush)

Step 1: Choosing the Shimmer Eyeshadow for Highlighter

Choosing shimmer eyeshadow as highlighter costs nothing, as you already have it at home.

Start looking at some of the eyeshadow palettes or even single eyeshadows and see if you have a shimmer shadow that will complement your skin tone, as not every skin tone will use the same tone of shimmer shadow.

Tip: A universal shimmer eyeshadow would be a champagne-like shadow; you can’t go wrong with that eyeshadow because it’s suitable for all skin tones.

Once you’ve decided which one to use, great! Let’s now get down to the application.

Step 2: Using the Shimmer Eyeshadow for Highlighter

You can use your fingers or a small face brush for best results. I am going to demonstrate both.

Highlighter can be applied to the top of your cheekbones, nose, q-pits bow, under the brow and on the inner corner.

Fingers:

Dig into the shimmer eyeshadow that you’ve picked and apply it with clean fingers to the areas or some of the areas that I’ve mentioned above. Use circular and wiping motions to blend the shimmer shadow into the skin, for a smooth appearance.

Don’t use too much shimmer shadow, as it can easily look overdone if too much powder gets accumulated at one place.

Applying the shadow with your fingers allows you to add it to all the different areas, as you can easily reach them without a problem.

Small Face Brush:

Using a small face brush can give you a beautiful result, too. Take some shimmer shadow on the brush and apply this to larger areas of the face. If you want to use it for the eye area too, you have to switch to a smaller brush to get the best results.

It is easier to control the amount of shimmer shadow you are going to use without it looking too overdone.
