Black Monkey Population Threatened Extinct
Black Monkey Population Threatened Extinct.
Happy Friday, at Steemit All. Today I have a photo of a protected animal caged at a tourist site in the city of Lhokseumawe
Front Image
Siamang or Symphalangus syndactylus is a long-sleeved black monkey that lives in Sumatra, Indonesia and peninsular Malaysia and Thailand.
It has long arms, making it very agile swinging in the tree. Even predators who want to eat it are very difficult to catch this nimble animal.
Unfortunately, this Black Primate agility, does not prevent it from the threat of extinction due to human hunting and logging and forest fires.
By IUCN Redlist, primates named latin Symphalangus syndactylus is categorized in "endangered" conservation status since 2008. CITES also incorporated these rare apes in the Appendix I list. This means that these long-sleeved black primates should not be traded
In Indonesia, gibbons belong to one of the protected animals under Government Regulation No. 7/1999 on the Preservation of Plant and Animal Species.
