Success Means Different Things to Different People

Success is the state or circumstance of meeting an agreed set of expectations. It can be thought of as the opposite of failure, which is also described in terms of reaching a certain level of objective satisfaction. The standards for success can be based on individual perception and are generally relative to a specific social belief system or context.


In order to clarify what success means, it is first necessary to understand what success is not. A definition of success as used by most people would be a state of life in which all of one's goals are reached. However, this definition does not necessarily coincide with a definition of what success means to each person.

For many people the definition of success is reaching their set of goals and being capable of accomplishing these goals. By achieving these goals, they feel that they have been successful, although others will argue that reaching these goals are only relevant if you are capable of reaching them. Many people would agree that being successful is having enough money to live comfortably.

Having said that, the definition of a successful life includes aspects that contribute to the enjoyment of life. People who are more successful tend to enjoy what they do and enjoy life more. To a certain extent, having the money to do what you want can contribute towards this. But what is more important than having the means to do things is having the drive to do them. And the ability to do hard work, even when money isn't really an issue, is a very important quality.

There are many people who feel like they are not successful because they have not achieved success. But it is important to remember that what you think is success is often the result of what you are actually feeling. If you feel like you are not a success, then you probably are. You may also be right, but then again, maybe you are right. It really depends on your perspective.

On the other hand, there are people who believe that those who have achieved success are also highly intelligent people. This has been proven by many psychologists, who have conducted many studies. And they found that successful people had higher IQs. They were also more emotionally intelligent, which also contributed to their success. So, in other words, successful people have higher emotional intelligence and therefore are more mentally tough, and therefore are more able to achieve success.

Success is a very individual thing. One person may define success differently than another, and therefore, cannot be forced into anything. Someone else's success could just be the result of a string of lucky events. So it is up to each person to decide what success means to them personally.

What does success look like for you? It might be different for you than it is for me. But if you are looking to achieve long-term success, working hard, using your head, following your dreams, working in a team, and following your values, then you can do it. I know you can. You have what it takes, because I have what it takes to achieve success.

If you are someone else and want to define success for you, it is important that you get back in touch with how you think. See, success looks like a certain way for someone else, and not necessarily for you. Sometimes that someone else may have a different way of looking at success and therefore cannot achieve it for you. If you want to take charge of your own success, and you want to define it, then you need to look in the mirror.


So, I am convinced success is about self-awareness, and about the ability to look in the mirror and say "I am a successful person." Do you agree? Do you think that successful people achieve their success through hard work, determination, personal magnetism, and social status could mean anything to you? I don't think so.
