How To Know Yourself - The First Step To Succeed

To know yourself you must first sacrifice the illusion of who you are. You have to get to the root of who you really are, and then recognize who you really are. The self we know in our private lives is the one we are most comfortable with. It is our version of the ideal self that gives us the feeling of who we are. We live within a world of carefully managed illusions, where the truth is only known to a select few.


In our personal relationships we rely on this self-image to know who we are supposed to be. When we feel unworthy or deficient, it is the result of the illusions we are living within. To know ourselves we must first give up these illusions. The things we believe about ourselves are nothing more than opinions and perceptions. If you want to know yourself you have to sacrifice this illusion altogether.

We begin to learn who we are when we recognize what is not true about our self. We begin to see that we are not perfect beings, and that there are things that we need to improve upon. We also begin to understand that no one knows us completely, and that our true self is not something we are trying to make into something we are not. We know who we are and what we are capable of, so we are free from self- deception.

To know yourself you must first give up the illusion that you already are who you are. Once you do this, you will be able to step into your true Self, and know Who You Truly Are. This does not mean that you become some perfect being. What it does mean is that you recognize the good and positive traits that you possess, and choose to honor them. You will no longer allow yourself to be distracted by the negative naysayers, and those who would like nothing better than to tear you down.

In knowing yourself you will also realize that all your efforts are really meaningless if you do not use them to create the life that you desire. There is always something more out there for you to achieve, if only you will open your mind to the possibilities and take action. We all know that each of us was created to a certain degree, but it does not mean that we cannot rise to the occasion and become something greater than ourselves. We can become more valuable to ourselves and to others, and we can change our self-image into a value that everyone can recognize.

To know yourself you must sacrifice the illusion that you want something badly enough to attain it. If you are doing your best to get a promotion at work, and you feel that you deserve it because of your skills, do not allow people's opinions to stand in the way. Do not let somebody else tell you that you cannot be successful, because that is what it means to be ignorant.

People who know themselves well, realize that there is something more out there for them. There are things beyond just being a good worker, a good parent, a good friend, or even a good lover. People who have found themselves have learned to give all their gifts to those who are willing to accept them. There is always something more out there for you.


To know yourself is not to make yourself a victim. On the contrary, it is the very process of knowing and understanding oneself that gives one the courage to continue on with his or her life. You have the ability to be whatever you want to be, and no one can tell you what you should be. That is precisely why it is so important to learn how to be a person of strength and courage. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be loved and respected. If you truly respect yourself, then you will be respected in return.
