Simple Pleasures

Kids nowadays have so many toys and the novelty of their new toys wear off pretty quickly. The adventurous and rambunctious kiddies would demolish some of their toys whether accidentally or otherwise in no time at all.

When he runs out of ideas or stuff to play with, the kiddo would rummage kitchen cabinets and drawers for stuff to play with. We let him play with the small unused pots and pans. He loves the salad spinner and he often hides it in his toy closet.

He could also spend hours playing with his daddy's retractable measuring tape. When he was much younger, he would throw tantrums whenever the tape was 'uncooperative' and retracted against his will.

Playing with empty cardboard boxes, cartons or paperbags is also his idea of fun. With adult supervision of course and plenty of ventilation.

Truly simple pleasures of childhood.
