The surprise box (Freewrite)

The little girl just came to her dad and asks: "May I go outside to play?". Happy the little one does not get too much attached to the television like other kids do at her age, he agreed. It was a sunny day, so he went also outside to observe how his daughter was playing outside.

He took a seat and watched her playing. After a few minutes of watching her, it came back into his mind that he bought a little surprise for his little sunshine. She would be so happy about that surprise, he hoped when he bought it. "Wait a moment, I have something for you", he said to his daughter that was dancing around the flower pots placed in front of the house and went inside.

Of course, little girls are curios and impatient. So she went to the doorstep of their house to see what surprise her dad is bringing. For her, the minute it took her dad to bring the surprise felt like an hour. "What is it that you have for me?" she asked immediately when she saw her father coming back, adding an impatient series of "please, tell me, please".

Her dad smiled at her and told her to close her eyes and open both hands. Knowing that it must be something awesome, she followed his advice. She felt a box in her hand and couldn't wait until she was allowed to open her eyes. "Now open your eyes" - it took ages for the little one until her dad said these words.

She opened her eyes to see what is the thing in her hands. Once she recognized what she held in her hand she immediately smiled all over. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! You´re the best dad in the world!" she shouted and opened the box to take the content outside.

She started to use the content of the box. Her dad had to go inside because the phone was ringing. When he returned outside, he was happy to see his daughter already covered a good amount of the sidewalk in front of their house with chalk. And he smiled as he got the confirmation that he was able to make his daughter happy with a box of colored chalks.
