"Lantay"is made of bamboo and a piece of wood.

Long ago there were no bed that made of metal and if there was, it will be expensive. That's why in provinces they used "lantay" as their bed. And before there were no nails so they used to make the bamboo not loosen up was a "bagon". Did you remember that TARZAN used to grab in going other trees, that was a "bago"(bisayan word). But "lantay" still exist nowadays, you can see it in the provinces. This kind of bed is very comfortable to lay on, as for me. Even if it's a hot season, the "lantay" will still be slight coldness in lying it. Yes, it's not soft because obviously it was made of bamboo and a wood.
You can say it's a lantay if it was made a bed. Many "payag" are made of bamboo where you can sit, but you can't call it a "lantay'" even if it was made by a bamboo and a wood. Remember if you see a bed and made by a bamboo and wood, that's a "lantay".IMG_20180731_062225.jpg
