stone tablet history

History is the best story you will learn, in my own opinion. It will let me understand how the things were made. It also make me interest if I'll know how long does that exist. So before I'll start showing youbaround, let me translate the writing in the stone tablet which was written in tagalog dialect.

Long ago the cathedral was made from pieces of wood and nipa hut. and the first center diocese of Cebu on 1595. The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral is the ecclesiastical seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Cebu in Cebu, Philippines. It was established as a diocese on August 14, 1595 and elevated as a metropolitan archdiocese on April 28, 1934 with the dioceses of Dumaguete, Maasin, Tagbilaran, and Talibon as suffrages.Jul 28, 2012. It was destroyed during world war II. Then it was rebuilt by by archbishop Julio Kardinal Rosales in July 1950.

side view of the church

Cathedral is few steps away from the Basilica of Sto. Niño. It's not that big like or wide like the Basilica but there's a place for parking vehicles. Unlike the Basilica it has also a nice place where you can stay while waiting for the next mass. There were chairs made around the church like it's a plaza or park. Also it's nice to stay because of trees and plants around.

resting place

This is what I'm talking about a small park. It was surrounded with metal fence and there were chairs made. Lot of people stays here especially couples. It's not that the place is wonderful. It's peaceful and quiet, no vendors or children can go inside because of security guards secure the place. Have another look...

resting place

This is the left side of the image from above. The image above is on the right side of it. The green plants and the flowers suround this little park.

resting place

This is the center of that little park. The statue you see is Jesus. Of course this is Cathedral, not a real park so that's why you can see it here statue like that.

parking area

It's nice to have a parking area because there will be rich people who will bring cars when they'll go to church. Also there were other people who goes to the Basilica but park their vehicles here.

Dis you noticed that the surrounding is very clean? Of course, there are people who's cleaning here. I think they were hired as an employee here.

parking area

There are designated place for parking. You don't need to be afraid if you don't know because there are employees will assist you. They don't want to make the place looks crowded, that's why the parking area is being managed well.

Having a good attraction is became part of every establishment. That's why this one right here seems it was made for that purpose. The statue of mother Mary is good already but when you out other things beside from it. It's obvious for it's purpose I think. Well, I think it's a good place to take some photos and enjoy the views of surrounding that looks like in the mountain.

entrance of the church

I want to show you why this church is worth to visit. It was built from an old style so of course the way of making it is different from today's establishment.

resting place at the side of the church

I was walking around to find some nice spot. Although the church and it's surroundings is nice. But it seems I'd like to see more. Then accidentally I found this smaller little park at the front of the church.

side of the church

What ai love in this part of this place is it's location. It was covered with big trees and covered by the church. You can make sure that this part right here won't be reached by the heat of the sun. Sometimes the small park at the front can be so hot when the time will be 12 noon. The sun will be at the center so if course that part will be reachable like thie one.

main entrance

Sad to say I can't get inside to take photos. It's not allowed to tske photos there. That's why I only captured from the outside and it's not that clear because it's against the sun. I just hope that I entertained you with the views outside the cathedral.
