Elephant is a heavy and intelligent animal and is a favorite animal of children. It is the most different and unique among the creatures found in the world. Its structure is very special and funny. There is a trunk in its front part which is called its nose. But its eyes are very small.

Although elephant is a wild animal but in many places it is also used as a pet animal. They hold heavy objects with their trunk and carry them on their back. In ancient times, kings used to use elephants in wars. Many types of creatures are found on earth, some of which are very small and some are very big.

Elephant is a wild animal with a huge body. It has four legs, two eyes, two big ears and a long trunk. Elephants have two tusks protruding which provide them with many types of help. They can fill up to 8 liters of water in their trunk.

Elephant is a herbivorous animal that eats forest trees, plants, tubers, fruits and twigs etc. An adult elephant needs about 150 kg of food in a day, due to which three-fourth of the day is spent only in eating.

Their favorite food is sugarcane and banana. Elephants are of three colors – brown, gray and white. African elephant and Asian elephant are two species of elephants. These are mostly found in tropical forests.

The weight of an Asian elephant can be up to 4000 kg. Whereas the ears of the African elephant are as big as fans and can weigh up to 6000 kg, more than that of the Asian elephant. They also have good memory power.

But in many places people have started hunting them for their own benefit, due to which the number of elephants has declined rapidly. But its number has increased due to some rules and laws made by the government.

Features of Elephant

Elephant is a creature with rich brain. It has four legs, fan-like ears, two small eyes and a long trunk. It has two teeth on the outside which are also called tusk in English and it is used by elephants in many forms.

There are separate teeth for eating. Elephants do most of the work with their trunk. That's why it has also been given the title of elephant's hand. Elephants can lift about 350 kg of heavy objects at one time with their trunk.

Importance of Elephant

Elephants were used by kings and emperors since historical times. In war it was used as a vehicle for riding and carrying weapons. Elephants were also used to pull the king's chariot.

Even today, many people use them as a form of employment. The person who provides this service is called a mahout, who takes people from place to place and takes money in return. Elephant teeth are very useful. Many types of jewelery are made from it.

In conclusion, the elephant is an intelligent creature which is a little different from other animals. It is useful for us in many ways. Its big teeth are priced very high in the markets. Hence some people are hunting them due to their greed, which is not right.
The government is taking many special steps for this so that those people can be controlled. We should also stop such activities and try to provide them safe environment.
