It's free weed control. That part of my yard is overrun with weeds, grapevines and trees. This is only step one in clearing the space to be usable again. It's going to be a multi-year process. You've got to start somewhere...

Anything heavy works. I've got bricks, chunks of concrete, a couple of tires, half a sawhorse, and some rain-filled buckets. It looks a mess, but it does the job!

Does she use them to keep the weeds out? I have been doing that lately with all my brown cardboard. Life is too short to be weeding all the time. :-)
