I wanted to provide readers of the Chicken Gazette with an update on the newest edition, Henny Penny. I still have her separated from the other girls. I let her out to be with them twice an “Dot” the Wyandotte started attacking her by jumping on her back. Hennys ok, but feathers flew and it’s oblivious that caution is required.
I let the ther 8 girls out to free range for the afternoon, let Henny out in the run to scratch around and have a dust bath.
She is so easy to handle and comes to me with some reluctance, in time she’ll be sitting in my lap. She is laying daily and her neck is healing. Still no feathers on one side where that ol Rooster pieced ar her.

Crock pot for the rest if they don’t shape up. They lack manners when it comes to welcoming someone new. Silly chickens can be such a headache worrying about them. 🐓🐓

Nice to see she's getting better! Maybe she'll get the missing feathers back after her next molt. Hope Dot dials the aggression down and Henny gets a chance to join the flock. Thanks for the update!
I am wondering if Dot is a bit jealous of the Henny Penny. She can defend herself, but given time let’s hope she will just fit in. Thanks for asking @aunt-deb. 🐓🐓

Ah Henny Penny, I hope they all start getting along soon. She's so sweet.
She is the only chicken we have that we can hug. HP is a sweetie, and she lays a pretty egg every day.
