Keep Children Out Of Politics
I learnt a new word today, Pedophrasty. An argument involving children to prop up a rationalization and make the opponent look like an asshole, as people are defenseless and suspend all skepticism in front of suffering children: nobody has the heart to question the authenticity or source of the reporting. This is pretty much why the media are so in love with good old Greta, and unfortunately using her as the poster child to push a political narrative. And yes it is very much a political narrative, because the science is in not way settled or crystal clear. Firstly consensus is not a meaningful or accurate measure of scientific truth, there is no democratic rule when it comes to scientific fact. This then puts the whole 97% of scientists agree talking point to bed, this is not a toothpaste ad. The origin of the 97% claim is from a 2009 survey by Peter Doran and Maggie Zimmerman, in which 96.2% of actively publishing climate scientists, a subset of only 77 scientists of the total survey population, agreed with the statement that mean global temperatures have generally risen since pre-1800 levels, and 97.4% agreed that human activity is a significant contributor to changing mean global temperatures. They are not saying there is an extinction level climate catastrophe coming, as young Greta would like you to believe.
"The saddest fact of climate change - and the chief reason we should be concerned about finding a proper response - is that the countries it will hit hardest are already among the poorest and most long-suffering." - Bjorn Lomborg
The thing is it mostly comes off as propaganda, which is what gets folks to to make emotional decisions rather than rational ones. Just because some child is crying does not mean it's all good to completely remove everyone individual liberties, which things like constitutions and rights are there to protect from exactly this kind of infringement. However even mentioning this is met with childish allegations of conspiracy theorist or worse. I mean what happened in with Stalin, Mao and Hitler is not just some bed time story, those tyrants got into power and was given even more power by the people, who most probably did so with the best intentions. I don't believe the entire German population knew what Hitler would end up doing when they first voted for him. There are unfortunately evil people in the world, and a very common characteristic of such people, is the hunger for power, and we all know what power eventually does. These kind of tactics of using children, even indirectly as it might be in this case, as a symbol of climate action that evokes a emotional reaction from the masses. This is a picture and scenario that has happened before, and politicians no matter who they are always looking for an angle to get your vote. Could there be some behind the scenes people influencing what she says, my knee jerk reaction when it comes to politics is a resounding yes. When you watch her read her prepared speech there is just something completely off about when she suddenly ads dramatic tone and inflection to specific sentences and then without a blink or hesitation turns it off and then back on again. There's a compelling argument to be made about Great talking coach that works for ONE Foundation, which is heavily financed by George Soros, who has also been funding Antifa for years. There's not much proof other than photos and is for the time being only speculation, but hey there was a $40million investigation into allegations of Russian collusion that was based on far less.
"We worry about the seemingly ever-increasing number of natural catastrophes. Yet this is mainly a consequence of CNN - we see many more, but the number is roughly constant, and we manage to deal much better with them over time. Globally, the death rate from catastrophes has dropped about fifty-fold over the past century." - Bjorn Lomborg

Quite a reasoned argument about the political realities of Thunberg's media presence. Particularly as you don't address the underlying CO2 demonization at all, dodging well the 'climate denier' charge dolts levy about.
Thanks!
