Yesterday, we find the fateful news of a shooting in the city of Florida, in the United States. This event was made by a young man of only 19 years.
A former student unleashed a hail of gunfire in a Florida high school on Wednesday, killing at least 17 adults and children, authorities said.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott ordered government flags flown at half-staff through Monday in honor of victims of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, a public school of some 3,000 students outside Boca Raton.
The school is closed for the rest of the week, Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie said. The district will offer counseling for students and their families.
"This has been a day where we've seen the worst of humanity. Tomorrow is gonna bring the best in humanity as we come together to move forward from this unspeakable tragedy," he said.
The suspect, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, was expelled for unspecified disciplinary reasons, Runcie said. He is due in court Thursday.
The shooting, which is among the 10 deadliest mass shootings in modern US history, revived debate over gun control while American politicians offered their condolences.
This fact, like many others that have occurred, makes me reflect on the lack of love that society currently experiences, and this lack of love is translated into one thing.
Absence of God.
When God is not in our life we feel so disoriented and vulnerable to unhealthy thoughts, that we do the first thing that comes to mind. The thoughts of the world invade us making us insensitive people, out of our senses, a kind of madness.
There is something that I see with concern of all this, beyond the fact itself and it is about the role of parents in this whole matter.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
I do not want to play the role of God, because I am not one to judge. But I see more and more with concern how people actually bring children into the world just by having them, and do not take the time to educate and found good values in them. For the children of today, will be the men of tomorrow.
You have to guide children to the point where they have no doubt that God is the way, that they respect God and his commandments above all things.
The love that God has in our steeds from the moment he is born, parents have to take care of the same. Love is a feeling of nobility and purity that represents a God in all its splendor, and has to be in every family, and in each child. So they are happy children and then men.
Men who have this world, a better world.
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
