Question 1: Explain why the future Internet of Things depends on Blockchain.


As, we all know that the blockchain technology has expanded in almost all the fields of work such as in the financial sector, real state sector and many more. Now, we will discuss about the Internet of Things and also how the future of IOT depends on Blockchain.

In the present time, there are a lot of enhanced things which used the advanced technology and they all are an ease to the humans. The internet of things are also one of them. The internet of things are basically the physical appliances that are controlled by the smart devices and are connected by the internet which shares and collects the data to make the human life easy. The Internet of Things was first used by an innovator and consumer sensor expert named Kevin Ashton.

The internet of things has their use in many aspects such as in home appliances and automobiles. These are the physical devices which are connected to the internet and control the devices through internet which do not need any physical contact. This has reduced the stress from the mankind is the can be controlled with the help of smart applications.

There are many of the applications of Internet of Things.

  • They are used by the farmers in the field of agriculture to detect the condition of soil and to check whether it can be used for agriculture purposes or not.

  • The internet of things are also used in the sector of Traffic management. One can check the best route for their desired place with the help of mobiles by simply an application.

Dependency of Future of Internet of Things on Blockchain


The digital Scope of things are changed by the Blockchain and internet of things. Their combinationhas reduced the drawbacks of latter. Blockchain allows the smart contracts so that they can be completed autonomously in a decentralized manner. The blockchain is used in many aspects of life other than use in cryptocurrency.

It is integrated into many sectors such as cybersecurity, government, health etc. With the help of these advantages the future of internet of things spend on blockchain.

Lets discuss some of the advantages of blockchain that can resolve deficiency of IoT:

● DECENTRALIZED STRUCTURE :

The decentralized structure of blockchain technology is one the major factors that would enhance the activities of Internet of Things. To share data, the distributed nodes can easily interact with each other and this all results in the increased processing of transactions on Internet of Things.

● SCALABILITY :

As the server used by Internet of Things is centralized, and so the data and information stored on IoT can lead to the system overload. Due the server problem or traffic network, we ofter face a problem of slow response in getting information. To solve this, the technology of blockchain can be served as great in eliminating these network issues and in effective running of IoT.

● ENHANCED SECURITY :

The internet of things can face a problem of hacking and scamming which leads to the leaking of data and information. So the crucial data of anyone can be hindered by the integration of blockchain with IoT which can significantly change how one's critical information is viewed. Due to its end-to-end encryption, blockchain can helps to prevent authorised activity and fraud.

● TRACEABLE :

It offers the users so that they can see the different transactions between users. It allows to easily detect each data, and information and this generates the trust.

Hence, by these of the different advantages, we can definitely say that the combination of internet of things with blockchain is the future which generate for efficient process.

Question 2: Research and create content on the following IoT Blockchain use case - Filament

Filament is a blockchain company which is running since 2012. The CEO of this internet of things comapny is Allison Clift-Jennings. The headquarters of company is based on Reno, Nevada. The Filament provides solutions of the IoT. The generation of Internet of Things blockchain transactions are allowed by Filament which ensures security of data and fastest transactions through the 'Blockets'.

The Filament has use cases in many industries. Some of them are given below:

• Automobile Industry:

One of the greatest use case of the filament IoT is in the automobile industry. The cars are equipped with Filament IoT and it allows the cars to interact with the blockchain so that they can share and manage data of their surroundings. Recently the filament Hai announced that it was doing partnership with the Nevada University which aims to improve the safety and practicality of autonomous cars.

All these updates in the auto industry makes the transactions more enhanced and secured. They also help to make the operations faster and efficient which ultimately results in the saving of time and money.

• Manufacturing Companies:

The Internet of Things are the physical devices which are connected to internet and interacts, collects and share information to make the life of humans easy. The Internet of Things are used in many of the industries such as in traffic management and agriculture field. The has resolve many of the drawbacks like data security.

The insightful and wonderful lecture provided by professor @yohan2on has become much knowlegeable for me. I learnt much about the blockchain and internet of things and it became very informative for me. Thanks to professor @yohan2on for providing this wonderful lecture.
