The composite index of business activity in the industrial and service sectors of the eurozone amounted to 51.4 points in February, having risen from 51 points in January, Markit Economics reported. Economists had expected the growth of the index to be less significant - up to 51.1 points. The service sector showed an increase in activity to 52.3 points from 51.2 points. According to experts, the index was expected to grow in this area to 51.5%. At the same time, a decline in activity was observed in the eurozone industry. The corresponding index dropped to 49.2 points from 50.5 points, noting the lowest value in 5 years and 8 months.
