Hello, It's Me

Just call me Coffee Bean. I'm by no means an expert on coffee, but I do drink a substantial amount of the stuff!

About Me
I'm getting annoyed with Facebook, so I'm here in hopes of finding a kinder and gentler community. I'm an avid motorcyclist. I have rescue dogs. But here are the more salient descriptors:

I write. I've been writing most of my adult life. Fiction and nonfiction. Much of my nonfiction work was for the US Air Force, which I am unable to share with anyone. (It's hard to claim that I'm an author when I can't show my work.) I've ghostwritten several sci-fi novels, children's plays and musicals, and countless content articles for websites and blogs. I do have several children's books published and available on Amazon.

I travel. I love visiting new places and meeting people from other cultures. I'll be in Hong Kong in a few weeks. I'll also be in the Philippines. I've lived across the US, as well as in the UK.

I help. My home away from home is in the Philippines. I visited there several years ago and was touched by the children and their passion for school. Having taught in both public and private schools in the US, I have a heart for school kids. In the past six years, I, along with several supporters, have provided backpacks filled with school supplies to thousands of children in the province of Bohol. I have sponsored several college students as well. I currently have six undergraduate students - I have three more who are in need of sponsorship (hint hint).

I tend to be conservative, but that doesn't mean I'm closed to new ideas or thoughts. Just don't expect me to blindly agree with unsubstantiated claims.

I've told many of my students, 'Don't tell me about your passion. Show me!
