Why Tesla need to and will succeed

On many occasions, some said or wrote that the reason Elon Musk and Tesla will fail is because competitors are starting to do electric cars and they already know how to make cars in quantities.

It is true that they started making electric cars, but they only started for some understandable reasons which I believe are mainly:

• Because they can't let that market develop without being part of it, like the steam train makers who failed to switch to electric trains.
• Because in some cases, thanks to Governments or State subventions, they get financial help to make electrics cars.
• Because either electric cars work or not, it doesn't matter for them as long as they divide the market shares enough to avoid any new player to take a part too big of the cake.

It is true that they already have experience for making cars in series, but the things that Tesla learned by making the previous models and currently with the Model 3 is an exclusive learning curve and lessons that do not necessarily apply to fuel cars. Take as an example SpaceX, others knew how to build rockets long before Elon Musk, but by starting from scratch, SpaceX was not only able to build rockets, but also to reuse them partly. And still working on making more parts reusable.

The reason why Elon Musk need to succeed, is because unlike his competitors, he understand the Planet will not survive, we (human beings) will not survive, if we continue emitting CO2 like there is no tomorrow.
He need to succeed because if he fails or stops, competitors will slow the pace at which they are trying to beat him now and that is a reason enough for him to never stop trying.
He need to succeed because it will show the way to more 'Elon Musk'-like forward thinking individuals to believe in their own field projects and to make tomorrow a better place.

He will succeed because he believes in his project and that he needs to pursue it until it succeed. He has a Vision, the same that probably the creators of his competitors had when they created their companies, let say Ford to name only one. But that is not the vision of the companies nowadays. Nowadays, those inherited companies only vision is to keep their business profitable.
He will succeed because he has his teams behind him. They believe in his project and the reasons the project need to succeed. And they work with all their heart to make it work, and to be part of the adventure leading to the future.
He will succeed because he has beyond his teams people who believe in his project and the reasons the project need to succeed. People who invest in it, in any way they can, including buying a Tesla Model 3 without certainty on delivery dates if they can afford it. The same way other bought the previous models before them, knowing that the main purpose of those was to make it easier for more people to get future models.

And without any proper conclusion, for my first post attempt, I know I have a lot to learn but I had to start somewhere, that's where I leave this to you and your point view are welcome if you would like to comment.
