How to make an Ankara applique

- By way of introduction: Applique are embellishments fashion desighners add to finished cloths and garment for additional beauty, it adds more radiance to simple garment and sometimes creates new designs on a plain fabric to make them unique.
- Am bringing to us a simple and easy way to make an Ankara applique.
- Material needed
- Ankara Fabric
- Flat back Rhinestones for fabrics
- Fusible interfacing
- Steam Iron.
- Scissors
- Method
- I cut out the desired pattern from my Ankara fabric.
- I then added interfacing on the wrong side of the Ankara patterns using a the steam iron, this is done to stiffen the patterns and hold them to the desired shape.
- Next I traced out lovely patterns on my leafy Ankara cut out pattern using the flat back rhinestones for fabrics. I then use the steam iron again to melt the glue sides of the stones to the fabric. This will bind the stones into the fabric and hold them in place.
- Lastly I used a shear scissors to trim the edges of the pattern so that my Ankara applique edges doesn't frail.
This is done and ready for use on another clothes am constructing for this purpose.
