How to Earn Steem even if you don't enjoy Writing
I first discovered Steemit as a writing platform which is good for me because I actually like writing but today I'll share with you how to earn Steem if you don't like writing. Yes, it is possible so let me reveal how.
Ok, you might still have to write a few words here and there but nothing like the epic posts that some users publish around here. Just 50 words or so is usually enough on the platforms I'll share.
How to Earn Steem if don't Like Writing
Earning Steem from your Art
If pictures or art is more you thing then, you're in luck because there's a growing Artisan community on Steemit and they appreciate unique pieces of art. Check out this one Steemian who creates some amazing work and get's rewarded accordingly.
Of course, you might need to develop a following first, but if you use the right tags #art #drawing #painting etc and comment on other artists posts, you'll soon be making Steem from your art using very few words.
Earning Steem as a Photographer
The Steem blockchain has some amazing apps to make it easier to share the things you love, and if it's photography that get's you up in the morning then consider using an app like Steepshot.
You'll find more about Steepshot and the updates on the @Steepshot homepage but essentially it's Steems version of Instagram.
It's easy to use and you don't have to write many words, as we all know a well-composed picture would tell a better story anyway. But you will need to develop a following before you start to make some serious Steem, posting your photography online.
Earning Steem as a Graphic Designer
Ok, graphic design can also fall under the art category too, but you can make some serious Steem rewards by designing LOGO's and artwork for Open Source Projects via Uptopian.io. Check out the @utopian-io page for more info.
And you'll need to log in via the Utopian.io frontend and select a new 'Graphics' contribution. Then you can share the graphic design work you've created for any Open Source Project.
And best of all the project doesn't necessarily need to request it, so you can just improve ideas and designs where you see fit and the upvotes should come from the massive @Utopian-io account.
But for maximum impact, you should look for open source projects that have requested graphic design elements for their projects. Browse the #utopian-io tag to find out what the open source community is up to.
Finally, it's also expected you'll be contributing freely to the open source project and will hand over any copyright entitlements so it's best to release your work under a creative commons license so there is no confusion.
Earning Steem with your Voice
There are a number of Musician earning Steem on [Dlive](https://www.dlive.io/) and [d.Tube](https://d.tube/) by posting covers of popular songs or even singing their own. But if getting in front of a video camera isn't your thing, then you can also publish on [Dsound](https://dsound.audio/).Dsound is a decentralized version of Soundcloud and could also be used to publish talks or even podcasts.
Whichever path you choose, you can certainly make Steem with your voice.
However, just add a few words into the post as your work also appears on Steemit and you don't want to miss out on any upvotes, because the readers didn't have time to watch a video or listen to your words.
Earn Steem Posting Deals and other Cool Stuff
As the Steem community grows, so too do the ways in which you can earn Steem without needing to be a writer.
There are already a few other ways to earn Steem without having to post hundreds of words in the hope of getting a few upvotes. If this sounds great then sites like Blockdeals.org and Steemhunt.com might just be the opportunities you've been looking for.
Blockdeals is a deals and bargain sharing platform where you post deals you find on the Internet or your inbox and then get upvoted for any decent deals you share. You can even earn Steem through curation rewards and by commenting on each deal.
Steemhunt rewards people finding cool stuff on the Internet and then sharing it with the SteemHunt Community. SteemHunt is a bit like Product Hunt, and is a cool place to find new stuff on the Interwebs.
Go ahead and give these apps a try, and see how easy it is to earn extra Steem without needing to write a masterpiece everyday.
Earn Steem as Maker
Sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo have been around for a number of years and have proved to be highly popular, but as a maker you can also advertise on a crowdfunding site like Fundition. Here people fund your project via upvotes, which get's paid out after 7 days.
It's only fairly new but Fundition could be a great way to earn Steem as a maker, without having to be a writer too.
And it can also be used as a short-term funding app like GoFundMe.
Earn Steem as a Gamer
If you're a gamer you've probably heard of a site like Twitch before, as live streaming has become really popular amongst the gaming community. And Steem has live streaming covered with a platform called Dlive. Dlive is a decentralized live streaming platform and it's really starting to make some serious waves in the online streaming space. And best of all you can earn Steem while you stream your favorite games.
It's a small gaming community at the moment but it's growing. And if you catch the attention of the large @dlive account, you might actually get a decent upvote for your efforts.
Of course, you could also use @dtube to upload your videos, so just work out which platform works best for you.
And just a quick mention of actual games that pay rewards in Steem, such as Steemgar and the SteemPunk Net. Yes, you can get rewarded for playing Steem games too.
Final Thoughts
As you can see there are plenty of ways to earn Steem other than just being a writer or blogger. And most require very little writing at all.
So just find the Steem platform that's right for you and build your following in the community that appreciates the things you do.
And you'll be earning plenty of Steem in no time.
I know I've missed a heap of other ways to earn Steem but I'll do a follow-up post with another way to earn Steem as an Investor.
Great post!
Sure there is a space for every single kind of person here on Steemit. We only need to find what we really like and aim to do it.
Greetings.
Indeed. I just want to get the word out there because it seems as if people only really know about Steemit, DTube and Busy, but there is so much more to this ecosystem.
Thanks for stopping by.
