Italian Baseball Glove

After 12 years, around the world, the Italian pitcher Alex Maestri, in 2018 will play again in the Italian Baseball League. In these weeks, he is advertising his line of customizable baseball gloves, and of various models depending on the role to play in the field. I went to see him, to ask him some questions.

Hi Alex! How are you?
After all these years, spent playing around the world, how are you, talking about your language, with your new team?
It feels good honestly; after all these years spent playing as "the foreigner", it's good to come back home and play with guys that speak my language.
This doesn't mean that I won't miss travel to play baseball, I had some really great experiences.
Are you ready for the new season, back in Italy?
I think I am! I'm sure that I will probably be nervous, pitching in front of my family and friends after all this time; but I already know that it will be fun.

How did you get the idea of ​​this new line of gloves?
In my career I had some really good years, but also some rough ones, from which I think I learned a lot.
I've learn that in this sport the mental part of the game is really important, if not fundamental. The Idea of making my own line of gloves came from the desire of sharing this message to the people that play this discipline like I do.
Dominate is the brand; it's a word that wants to express mental strenght, determination. A dominant mindset.
Thru my products I want to constantly remember players that is fundamental to stay in control of your mind in order to have success.

Very nice this mentality, I like it a lot. But let's try to explain to the less experienced. In Italy, few people know baseball.
First of all, in which hand should the glove be kept?
It Depends. The glove is used to catch the ball. So if you throw right handed you need to wear it on your left hand, and viceversa.

There are various types of glove true?
Yes. All depends on which position you play. Generally speaking there are gloves for pitchers, first baseman, catchers, infields and outfields

Now a question that may interest those who are already experienced, and play baseball at any level. Are you able to customize the gloves? What kind of customization can you offer?
It all starts from the colors you want to use for the different parts of the glove (web, laces, logos...); then you can decide to write your name, your number; add your country's flag or your wife's or son's name... Honestly you can do all kind of stuff. By being made from scratch you can decide to do almost everything you want!
