Easy and beautiful

in #contest8 years ago (edited)

Good evening all. As I told you in my introduction post a few months ago I am a creative person by heart. But in the post I'm gonna write for you today I will not write about my creativity. But about my father, after whom I obviously inherited the sense for crafting.

He made this project for the first time a few years back, and the final result you can see in the photo below. Some of you can imagine how this flower pots are being made. But for those who don't have a clue, I think this post can be really full of information. You will see, that with just a few things you can make a perfect gift for all the "green thumb" lovers.

All you need is a towel (the size of the towel should be chosen with care), concrete, water, round chair without the backrest (like bar chair), or a high pedestal of some kind. You will also need the PVC sheet, with which you will cover the floor. In case you don't want to have a concrete ring on the floor, of course. :) So, if you are interested in how to make one, please read on.

First things first, you have to cover the floor with the PVC, or some kind of protective sheet you can later throw away. In the middle of it, you put the chair covered with protection, which will enable you to peel the towel from it, when the final product will be dry.
Then you have to mix the cement with water to make a concrete mixture and soak the towel in it. While still wet, you put the soaked towel on the chair, so it can hang freely.

When it's totally dry, you can finally turn it around. With the use of concrete colors to protect it or give it a shine. With using the different shapes of the chair, you can make different shapes of the pot. Also, you can use the smaller, or larger towels, to make the pots higher or lower. Let your imagination run free, and make a beautiful gift for your loved ones.

Like I told you in the beginning, you saw that you don't need much to make an interesting gift like my father did for numerous times now. I wanted to make one myself, but I didn't have the time yet. Who knows. Maybe this will be my next project...

This is amazing and beautiful looking. My mother almost every year make one of these, it's pretty cheap and results that you will get are perfect. :)

How beautiful. Your father truly is an artist, and now I know where your passion for crafting is coming from. Amazing.
