Sterilization of 18,000 government employees including army-policemen

Turkey's official order has said that 18 thousand 63 people were fired as part of attempts to join the failed army coup two years ago. Among them, 8,998 police officers, 3,777 soldiers, 1,949 air force personnel and 1,126 Navy personnel.

In addition, 1,542 civilian workers, 199 academic workers have been suspended and at least three newspapers, one television channel and 12 news agencies have been closed. In one order, it has been said that 148 employees, who were dismissed earlier, were reinstated in the service.

In July 2016, more than 230 people were killed in the failed attempt to overthrow Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan government. Since then, there has been a state of emergency in the country. There are at least seven times the state of emergency. The current emergency situation is scheduled to end on July 19. Turkey is accused by US-based Muslim missionary Fathullah Gulen for the failed coup attempt. Most of those who have been dismissed have been accused of involvement with Gulen.
