🧟🧟7 Days to Die: The Tutorial - Episode 2🧟🧟
In Episode 1, we covered the basics: buttons, using the mouse, and moving around. Today should be a lot more interesting!! In this video, we'll cover the Survival Challenges, where you learn how to gather resources, craft essentials, and the beginning of base building. 3 upgraded wood frames does not a base make. As you level up, the types and levels of enemies that spawn in become increasingly difficult — dogs being the worst — so solid base building is essential!
The Survival Challenges
Bedroll
Stone Axe
Clothes
Wooden Club
3 Wooden Frames
Wooden Bow
Stone Arrows
Campfire
The bedroll and clothes require the most plant fibers; you gather these by punching grass. It's always best to punch grass so you don't wear down your tools. You can punch things by using an empty slot on your tool belt.
The stone axe requires wood and stones. You start out collecting wood by punching trees. Thankfully it takes a small amount of wood to make the tool. Stones may be harder to come by. You can collect those by picking them up off the ground using the E button; you can collect them by punching boulders. Once you have the axe made, you can use it to cut wood and mine stones.
The clothing challenge requires you to craft a shirt, pants, shoes, hood, and gloves. You make these by gathering plant fibers. YAY! Punching grass! Once you make them, you are then prompted to put them on. You do this by opening your inventory, clicking on the item, and pressing W.
The bow and arrows are made with wood, plant fibers, and stones. You should have your axe by now, so your days of punching trees are in the past! Some people like using the bow and arrows on the zombies. I am better with a melee weapon, so I save the bow and arrows for hunting for food.
The campfire is made with stones and is powered with wood. The campfire makes all the water, tea, and food that you don't scavenge or grow possible. You can use it to make bottled water from murky water; make boiled meats; meat stews; even blueberry pies! It also serves as a warming mechanism when you're cold. Note: Once you place a campfire, it cannot be picked up and moved.
Well, that covers the basics. Now on to the fun part — THE VIDEO!!
