Psychedelic Macro Photography
I've always been on a rail with my art to synthesize disparate techniques and media into something new.
These are a set of photos where I made small sculptures out of modeling clay as the subject. I tend to use gum arabic based semi-glossy watercolor paints (cheap children's paint) because of the characteristics it has under flash.
Nail polish, bronze dust, sugar, salt, flower petals--My paint is literally just any matter combined however I choose.
The second photo has kind of "rain" visible. I timed a spray as a took the photo.
I've messed around with incorporating other phenomena, such as electrical sparks, gunpowder--things that make their own light.
Since the final product is a photograph, the objects in the photo can be fragile and transient; therefore what you see in the photos no longer even exists.
