A robot is a machine or computer programmed to carry out tasks and actions. It is capable of carrying out any complex series of actions automatically. A robot can be controlled by any external device like a remote control or some may have a control embedded in them, so they don't need any external control or support.

HISTORY OF THE EARLY ROBOTS

The first robots were invented in the early 1950s by George C. Devol, an inventor from Louisville, Kentucky. He invented the programmed device called "Unimate".
The history originates in the ancient world. During the industrial revolution, human beings came up with the idea of the structural engineering capability to control electricity so that machines could be powered with small motors.

Industrial robots are fixed machines capable of manufacturing products in the factory, packaging, lifting heavy loads, with the help of artificial intelligence and easing humans the stress of carrying out such heavy tasks. They even do the works more faster and efficient since they are programmed and have motors in them.

Some of these robots are designed like humans, like they tend to resemble human beings and as well carry out daily routines like humans asides bathing, eating etc.

Robots eliminate dangerous jobs for humans that might have taken lives because they are capable of working in hazardous environments where most humans can't work there. They can take care of toxic substances and repetitive tasks.

This has helped companies to prevent many accidents, and also save time and money.

ADVANTAGES OF ROBOTS

• Safety: robots can improve in work safety. They do works that are especially dangerous and hazardous.

• Speed: robots don't get distracted or interrupted by any form of event so they are focused and reliable at carrying out tasks at maximum speed.

• Consistency: robots never need to divert to doing another thing, they finish a particular task before getting to another.

• Perfection: robots are more accurate than humans, they are like computers, they provide accurate answers and deliveries.

• Job Creation: people think automation will take away their job opportunities but instead, it will create more possibilities and roles. Since there are robots available then there will be more jobs available.

Most of these machines will needo employees to monitor and maintain these machines and the sector that will take charge to identify the errors the machines cannot detect itself.

• Productivity:Robots increase productivity, which means that less time is required for humans to carry out a certain activity or produce an output. But the higher the productivity, the lesser the production costs and output prices. This in turn increases the quantity of demand by the consumers and firms hire workers to meet this increased demand.

It is quite clear that the technology of robots are really helpful in our lives, companies, and offices as well which can serve as a vacuum cleaner or even an attendant. The question is "If you're opportune to have one of these, what would you do with them?".
