Utopian.io: Minor Style Fixes (Contribution Report #1)
Today I learned about utopian.io.
What an awesome project! For years now I had this "utopian" idea in my head to make a living from contributing to open source projects. Utopian.io seems to be exactly what I've been looking for. I wanted to try it immediately and also promote this project with an own post. This is what this "contribution report" is about.
I noticed the layout/styling of the page still has some issues and I wanted to quickly fix one or two of them and then share my contribution.
To do so I first installed a local copy of the project which made me realize that it was forked from busy.org with the new layout they announced recently. So I guess this is where those small issues are coming from.
The changes I committed are really just small ones. First I added the missing horizontal padding around the main content area on small screens.

You see... no big deal. The next one actually fixes a more inconvenient issue in firefox.

The container was set to a fixed width, which chrome ignores but firefox doesn't, resulting in this ugly line break. The width is now fluid and the container doesn't break the layout in firefox anymore.

This was just a quick test of this new platform but I will definitely use it to share my future open source contributions! What a great motivation to become a little bit more active again as a programmer, especially in other peoples projects. Yet another prove of the really disruptive potential of blockchain based social media.

Thank you! I actually wouoldn't call my changes "amazing" but it's a start. I didn't check if those issues occur in the main (busy.org) repo. Maybe it would have made more sense to commit the changes there. Anyway... thank you for this great project! The potential of steem lies in the different dedicated plattforms that arise from it. Another good use case would be stackoverflow. I'd be surprised if there aren't any developers working on this already.
Well that could be something you could start doing @mkt. I think it is a great idea!
