Pain and Bitterness enraged her heart but so did love creep in. She could see the danger ahead already, she tried to swerve pass it but…

Thoughts run through her mind every passing day, she wished things didn’t turn out this way. She has to put an end to this, she tells herself, but a part of her subconscious mind doesn’t want this to end. Well, she has got to make a choice before it’s too late.

Doctor Lexi had just finished attending to one of her favorite patients in the intensive care unit. He was brought in three days ago after he suffered a dreadful motor accident which left one of his leg broken and caused some internal bleeding. Fortunately he survived, Doctor Lexi is quite good at what she does. She was loved by many. She always had everything figured out. She ensured she checked everything on her to-do list every day. She hated procrastination, yes you could call her Lady perfection. She quickly did her job for the day at the hospital and headed straight to her niece’s school.

Diana was her favorite niece, the one she loved so much but today she had to take her back to her parents unlike other days when she'd take her home with her. It was weekend, she had spent the week with her and they had so much fun.

Dr. Lexi drove into the parking space, pulled over and hurriedly stepped out. She was a little bit late. Diana sighted her from a distance and ran towards her. Yay! “My little darling, i’m so sorry”… she said. Diana didn’t mind, seeing her alone made her happy. They chatted and laughed all the way and stopped by at the ice cream shop to get a plate of ice-cream, just a little celebration for Diana’s outstanding results in school.

Diana stayed in the car as Dr. Lexi stepped out to purchase a plate of ice cream. She arrived at the counter placed her order and patiently waited to receive her order.

He knew he wanted her badly, he craved for her in every moment of his imagination, it was like an obsession. The hot passionate kisses they shared were stuck in his memory. He didn’t want to let her go. He stepped into the ice cream shop to get a cup of cold ice cream just to help clear his mind but he was lost away in his own thoughts that he didn’t see the young pretty lady coming. He’d bumped into Dr. Lexi who had dropped her plates of ice cream as a result of the crash.

“Oh i’m sorry, please allow me purchase new ones”… He requested. But she refused. She kindly smiled at him and told him not to worry. “I really have to go now”. She said after checking her wristwatch. She was running late, she returned to the car and drove off. He just stared. Of course, she promised to get Diana another plate of ice cream when she returns.

INTERMISSION

Wealth ran in the lineage of Copeland, he was a man who had everything and anything he wanted but this one he couldn’t get. My Goodness, she is just a lady too. But a special one, he knew this for sure. His girlfriend was a pain in his ass. He wanted a break-up not because he thought he was falling in love with another lady, but being with her for the past two years has been hell for him. Well he had a break-up meeting to attend at least that was what he planned to do tonight. Break up with her.

“Hey Joana, how are you today?” he asked as he sat down. She had set up a meeting with him to settle things with him and make things straight but he wasn’t going to reconcile with her. He had made up his mind. It was over.

As Lexi stepped into her room she saw a card which had been slipped through the door. She picked it up and opened the card. It was a message from him. He wanted a date with her saturday night. What does he want this time? She made it clear to him the last time. Just this last time, the note said.

Joana cried all night, she couldn’t change his mind. Well it was all her fault for she knew this she took advantage of his trust and loyalty. Copeland got home feeling fulfilled and free, now he has a bait to catch. He has to see her again and let her know he truly feels this. Yes! He had to admit he fell in love with her already these past months. He thought it was just a mutual feeling but that changed once his lips met hers. He knew she wanted him as much as he wanted her. No it was not because of her body, he had grown to love this lady.

Joana trailed Copeland from when he left his house to work. She left series of messages and missed calls. But never got a callback or response. As much as she wanted to fix things, she thought there was a lady in the picture too.

INTERMISSION

Lexi picked one of her favorite hot dresses that revealed that hour-glass shape that always hid in those surgery clothes and lab coats. She stood in front of the standing mirror and smiled as she reminisced on the moments she's had with him. She was introduced to him by her best friend who supposedly loved him too. But she became fond of him too, never did she wish for this to happen. His apartment was few blocks away, and he would invite her over and they would have lunch together, laugh and chat till her lunch hour was over. She felt good and safe whenever she was with him, she enjoyed every moment with him. She didn’t see this coming. She quickly dressed up and stepped out, she didn’t want to keep her date waiting. Laughing out loud in her head...... Her date!

He was stunned as she walked through the entrance of the restaurant, she looked so beautiful in the yellow dress and my goodness! She’s got everything in the right places, perfect shape. He watched as she swayed her hips from side to side. Yea!! He was blown away. Lol… She smiled as she approached the table where he sat. He placed his right hand on her waist as he planted a kiss on her left cheek. They did not want to talk about what happened at his apartment the last time they met. So they ordered for a meal, chatted and laughed at each other's joke.

It was getting late she had to return home he offered to drop her off. She did not hesitate. He pulled over at the parking space once he reached her apartment. She requested he came in for a cup of coffee. More time to spend with her, he thought.

Once they stepped in, she made coffee and was going to talk about what happened the last time but was interrupted by a knock on the door. She stood up to find out who was at her door by this time of the night. Her best friend was standing at the front of her door step. Copeland asked who was there as he approached the door and found Joana standing at Dr Lexi's door.
