KTHE STORY OF A LOAF OF BREAD

in #wafrica6 years ago (edited)

Doing good to our fellow humans, goes a very long way. Longer than we can ever imagine. Regardless our our religion or tribe, we are obliged to treat each other equally, whether that person is rich, poor or in the middle class.

In the very sight of God we are very much alike and equal. In this unexpected world, a well-done act can return to itself.

In a village, quite unknown to me. There existed an old lady who used to sell bread on her bicycle. Every day, this woman bakes extra to give to the less fortunate who manages to pass by her home. She usually places the bread on the porch of her house.

And every blessed day, an old man comes around her house with a stick and takes a loaf of bread. Now, this old man, however, never thanked her nor showed any hospitality to the widow, the man instead said a number of words he always speaks every day.

"Your bad deeds will remain with you, your good deeds will come back to you." Hmmm..

Why does he keeps saying that, i said to myself!!

Every day the same thing goes on and on. The old man always came and took a loaf of bread. He said,

"Your bad deeds will stay with you, your good deeds will come back to you."

The window got feed up with the old man's act. because he never ever for once issued a, THANK YOUwas annoyed with him because the old man never thanked her.

Every day the old man said the same thing, ‘what does that mean?' thought the woman. Then one faithful day, she decided to to get rid of the ungrateful man, so she poisoned the loaf of bread. When the widow placed it on the porch of her house, she trembles and then realizes the evil that she is about to do. "What have I done?" she said to herself

She discarded the poisoned loaf and replaced it with a fresh new one. Much like the days before, the old man came, and again and he kept on saying,

"Your bad deeds will stay with you, your good deeds will come back to you."

This widow had a daughter whom she has not heard of for two years. She went in a far place for so long, and has never heard of her whereabouts. The widow kept on praying for her daughter’s salvation and for her eventual return.

Two nights after the poisoning incident, there was a knock on her door. The widow opened it, and to her surprise, saw her beloved daughter standing in front of her. She looked awfully thin and weak. She was starving.

The daughter looked at her mother and said,

“Mom, this is a miracle. While I was travelling, a bunch of robbers took everything from me. I was exhausted, weak and helpless, I thought that I was going to die of hunger. But one day, as I was lying on the sidewalk, an old man came to me and handed me a loaf of bread.

The man said,

“This is what I eat every day. Today, I will have to give it to you because you need it more than me.”
Hearing her daughter's story, her mother's face paled and leaned against the door of the house all the while recalling the poisoned bread she was about to give to the old man that day.

Finally, she realized the meaning of the word the old man always said, "Your bad deeds will stay with you, your good deeds will come back to you."

CONCLUSION
Do good to people around you, no matter who they are! Because, many people have been blessed by Angels in disguised in human form. Your blessings would surely come back to you, because that's the way God created life to be. Remain Blessed!!
