Ethnical Entry - Monday Color Challenge
This photo is taken in march this year. The bracelets you see are part of an old Bulgarian tradition called "Martenitsa". They are made of red and white wool tangled together. This decoration is worn in 1-st it March and suposed to protect you and bring you health during the year.
"An early 20th-century Bulgarian story relates the first Martenitsi to the 7th-century Battle of Ongal between the Bulgarian Khan Asparuh and the Byzantines, which resulted in a decisive Bulgarian victory. After the battle, the Bulgarian Khan sent eagles with white threads to announce the victory to his main camp. The threads turned bloody during the flight, thus creating the first Martenitsa."(according to Wiki)
Those Martenitsi are made by me for this March. And if you happen to visit Bulgaria in that rime of the year you will see everyone is wearing them! And I just decided to have a different entry for today for the color challenge! Have a great great week!
