Make every photo interesting by changing lighting

Hello people. I wanted to give you example of something good and bad in photography, in my opinion. You need to know that lighting is one of the most important thing in photography, light can give such a difference in moodiness of photo.

Here are two photos, same composition, different lighting. First one has lighting that is placed behind subject and other one doesn't have any light. You can see that first one gives such a nice background and you can clearly see that it's snowing and how dense snow is. Second one has a lot of noise, even tho I used same settings, there are light trails, subject is not well lit and overall image quality is bad.

Tell me what do you think about it, would you change something in first photo? :)
