Greetings my fellow steemians !
I must say am enjoying my stay on this blockchain and am sure you likewise do.

I am glad to present to you my Achievement 3 task on the blockchain.
In this post, I'd like to bring your notice what plagiarism is all about.

What is plagiarism

I'm sure you must have come across this word "plagiarism" either online or offline.

It is simply the act of copying someone's else work without giving credit or proper citation.

Types of plagiarism

Mosaic plagiarism ; In this type of plagiarism, the
plagiarist gathers different ideas of different author's and reproducing it as a new work without giving proper credit to the original authors.

Copy & Paste ; Just as the name implies, it involves one copying the entire work ( word to word) of another author and reproducing it as if he's the original author.

Self Plagiarism ;
It simply means a recopy of one's previous work and presenting it without giving credit to it.
It is mostly found among author's although some may argue it justified, but it's still unethical and unacceptable in Steemit.

How to avoid plagiarism

Below are some of the ways I think would help you create a plagiarism free post.

  • Adding citation:
For instance, I copied the definition of citation and cited the source from which it was copied.

A citation is a reference to a source. More precisely, a citation is an abbreviated alphanumeric expression embedded in the body of an intellectual work that denotes an entry in the bibliographic references section of the work for the purpose of acknowledging the relevance of the works of others to the topic of discussion at the spot where the citation appears

  • Always put every copy/paste work in quotes "" or formatted using the (>) markup.

  • Plagiarism checker application can also help you review your work before posting it.

    Consequences

  • Creating a plagiarized works on Steemit would ruin your reputation as no one would find it interesting to read or vote any plagiarized post.

  • Votes earned on that post would be withdrawn and the author might hardly get upvotes from steem curator.

  • Lastly, the plagiarist would be at the risk of being stopped from posting on Steemit.

" I have read and understood the Steemit etiquette on Steemit community and would do my best to embrace them. "

It actually wasn't intentional.
I was only practicing how to transfer some tokens unfortunately it turned out that the name I used is a user here.

Ok, I understand. You are now Verified in this Achievement Task 3. You may now proceed to the next Achievement at your own pace.
