Old Brooklyn, Sticky but Serendipitous / 올드 브루클린 사진 이야기 -

The young hipsters definitely have taken over Brooklyn in the past few years. The city is gentrifying at an extreme rate but some parts of Brooklyn still remain very raw and grungy. Deep in Brooklyn, where things may not be so up to date, no sign of modern development, you encounter pristine and old remains like these.

브루클린은 지난 몇년 심한 젠트리피케이션을 겪어 왔습니다. 맨하탄과 20분 거리 이내 브루클린의 기존의 인구는 거의 대부분 밀려나갔구요, 젊은 사람들과 새로운 빌딩들이 많이 들어섰습니다.

좀 더 깊숙한 브루클린으로 들어가면 아직 개발의 손이 닿지 않은 곳이 나옵니다. Jay-Z가 어릴적 랩 하면서 살았던 바로 그 동네요. 지나다니다 보면 old하지만 100년이 넘은 클래식한 건물, 세렌디피한 순간과 마주할 때가 있습니다.

I was in an Uber when I was passing by this building.


요즘은 이런빌딩 짓지 않죠-

An old church. I am not sure if this building is up to date and meet NYC regulation code to be fully occupied. It seems like a part of first floor was being used for an occasional service.

Absolutely stunning.

Pink Azalea was flooding onto the street

And a pink brownstone building right next to it.

I started to take photos every time I see old sign or shops - some of these places will disappear and soon will be gone into history for forever.
