10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 ,3 , 2, 1... My phone camera timer counted down in selfie mode as I positioned myself during a one-woman photo shoot. The image introducing @mininthecity to the steemit community was captured in my bedroom during a burst of late-night creative energy. I realize the date on my #introduceyourself note, collaged with magazine cut-outs, is not clear. Trust me, I'm real. A close-up photo of the poster is included. Welcome to my first blog!

As I begin writing, pondering what to share about myself, cliches and quotes are springing to mind.

"I'm a kid at heart"
"The more you live the less you die"

Tuning into my own words, they are firing more quickly than I can record. How to encompass all of me in one blog post that will share with the steemit world my "I am" statement? Impossible. Experiencing life is natural, writing it down is an art form. And I enjoy getting messy when I create art, flowing, not worrying about perfection or the final work, enjoying the process. In that spirit, rather than struggling to put the ideal words into organized sentences, let me invite you into my stream of consciousness this evening.

Scribbles. Rhymes. Skipping is the bounciest way to move. I'm here to play, love, create. I feel free when I'm moving my body and using my voice with no fear of judgement. No filter. Singing. Dancing. Bouncing. Whoo Hooing. Interests and hobbies. Which will become passions, skills? Which will remain illusive, challenging? Cycling, hiking, ice skating, xc skiing, reading, writing, painting, rock climbing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, yoga, travel, photography, art, music, piano, lyrics, gardening, digging in the dirt. Earth. Mother Earth. Hummingbirds. Dirt under my fingernails, paint in my hair, hands stained with beet juice or marked with stray ink strokes. Intense joy. Laughter. Enthusiasm for life. Stillness. Quiet. Loving myself. Relishing "me" time. Reflection. Meditation. Uninhibited. Nature. Noticing worlds within this world. Exploring details, sights, sounds, smells. Experiencing people, places.

I'm here to connect, to give, to receive. Purpose. Passion. All the feels. Loving freely. Feeling strong, powerful, vulnerable, childlike. Presence. Dreams. Every low has been worth the highs. A deep well of pain and cleansing cries. Heartache is human. There are so many kinds of love, ways of loving. Learning. We're here to connect.
