Flying My Country's Flag

It is important to me to give respect to my country, and one way I show that respect is by flying the American Flag proudly. In this country I am free and have control of my own life and what I do with it. I am able to speak my mind, I am able to buy and shoot guns, I am able to protest my own government should it become corrupt. All of these rights not everyone else in the world has but they are given to me free of charge. I also give respect to my country by serving in the Army National Guard for the last 7 years and for many more years in the future.

I am making this post so that my followers and the rest of the Steemit community knows where I stand and where my values are. I know a lot of people that follow me, and people I follow are about the "homesteading" lifestyle and self sufficient living. I just want to remind you all how blessed we are to live in a country like this with the ability to live this way without fear or persecution. On this upcoming holiday weekend and on Independance day I want you all to remember this is the reason why our country is a country and not a colony of another country. Our freedoms were earned by the lives of our forefathers and what they fought for deserves our respect whether you like who the president is or not. It's the foundation of the country we should all care about.
