Zeal /ziːl/ not Jill /ˌdʒɪl/ and Zed /zɛd/ not Jed /ˈdʒɛd/ (COM 43)
It is not easy to deliver a Christmas message based on Isaiah 9 to a Korean congregation. It seems they all have their heads in the gutter.
We are reading through the famous passage:
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Suddenly I hear a giggle at the end as someone mispronounces:
The Jill of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
Isaiah proclaims, "The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this." But in Korea the verse is pronounced, "The Jill of the Lord will accomplish this." I'm pretty open to random pronunciations of English words until I run this one through google translate. The word "Jil" 질 in Korean has a completely different meaning from the English word "zeal".
It makes you wonder about the Jil 질 education these kids are getting in school today.

the education system, in all parts of the world, i'd say is 질 (as in vagina).
