This Pricks

“Ouch!! That pricks. I just had that test done a week ago. Why do I have to get this blood test done now?”

"I’m sorry Mr. Simpson. You transferred to a new hospital and it is procedure for us to do all mandatory medical examinations newly before you can be properly diagnosed."

"This is ridiculous. Can’t you get the information from the last hospital?"

"I’m sorry. That hospital is not part of our system."

“Oh, just prick me!”

Mr. Simpson had to get the same blood test done again. It could have been a lot worse. There was no way for him to transfer his medical data safely and accurately from one hospital to the next.

The ironic thing is that he can’t access all his medical data because it is his own personal information. He cannot access his test results from another hospital. Every time he wants personal records pulled he has to pay extra to get his own records. At the same time he really cannot control who sees his health records.

What’s worse is that his private personal information on file is up in the grabs and relatively transparent to hackers of large institutions. Access to this data can be used for fraudulent behavior and claims to health benefits and insurance payments.

Does it sound like an unlikely story?

Millions of dollars are lost in fraudulent claims every year .

Could there be a way to protect patient data while providing quick and secure information to hospitals and insurance companies? Could patients all over the world be given the comfort of secure data and transactions through block chain technologies?

This is exactly what MediBloc is doing. MediBloc is the digital health care wallet of the future. Patients will be able to access their own private information and keep it private. Hospitals will be able to manage medical data on the block chain providing prompt and secure information to patients, doctors and insurance providers.

The fact that I be shillin is the punchline. And if I be shillin on punchline, it is with a light heart.

How is Tau doing?

lol! howdy there @mineopoly! hey I remember watching Robert Palmer videos back in the 80s with those backup dancers or whatever those women were, he had some good songs and entertaining videos to watch.

but your main post point about the blockchain for medical records, that's a great idea! In a few years we'll wonder what we ever did without the blockchain!

Dear @janton,

Howdy,

I have to keep myself entertained if I am going to write anything. This group at MediBlock actually belong to a local medical school hospital here in Seoul and have a good plan.

The medical field is just one of many places crypto will be implemented.

As for Robert Palmer, my brother and I had no TV in the 80s but our friend down the block had MTV. That was a whole new world to us. Some of those videos really got stuck in my head.

howdy back @mineopoly! that medical blockchain sounds very interesting and it will be fun to watch and see what comes of it, it sure sounds remarkable.
yeah the Robert Palmer videos with those women behind him creates a very striking image! great branding and marketing.

is the monsoon or tphoon season over yet?

I think we have almost two weeks of rain left. ^^

oh is that all? well I reckon ya'll are used to it though, becomes a way of life.
I'd be celebrating in two weeks!

Oh Yes! I will be celebrating. Summer vacation begins then. And it will be as hot as Texas here then I am on a plane to Chicago.

howdy back again @mineopoly! what's in Chicago, your family?
Are you spending the summer break in the U.S.?

Yes @janton. My family is there. I grew up in Chicago. I will spend a little time in New York, Kentucky and then Chicago. It will go by fast. My parents and some of my brothers are there. That will be my summer break and then classes start the day I get back. The good thing is we also get a winter break in Korea. If I have time I'd like to visit some of my friends in India then. Thanks for your prayers.

Interesting concept Christopher. Great entry for the contest.

I'm glad you could read this @redheadpei. Some countries seem to have "better" health care coverage than others. The US has had a lot of problems to find a system that works for everyone. In Korea primary health care is covered by a government insurance. Regardless of the health care system data stored on a blockchain will definitely be more secure and efficient. I believe this is one place the world actually "needs" this technology.

We have a great health care system here in Canada covered by the government. Besides the usual abuse of a wonderful thing by some people, there alway seems to be shortage of doctors.

Do doctors in Canada get paid less than American doctors? Maybe that has something to do with it?

I don’t know. I have heard horror stories about people losing their homes to pay for doctor, hospital and operation in U.S.
As far as I know, the doctor shortage here has been in PEI as most go to the bigger cities. I think it has been resolved lately. My doctor is on maternity leave and a nurse practitioner is helping out. That seems a good solution.

Great. The nurse practitioner and Physician Assistant have a bright future for the next decade.

Stay healthy and smile :)

Thanks for keeping up with me @crypto.piotr

Likewise you always manage to put a smile on my face @crypto.piotr

This was a mega contest and the creators of this coin are in my neighborhood so I thought I would give it a try. Again I really cannot write about crypto without a joke somewhere. I'm really glad you enjoyed it even though it may have pinched.

It's about time for me to head over to your blog and see what you are up to :-)
