We all need to cheer each other up! Hope your Thanksgiving was nice. I can't stand Black Friday...I never fight the crowds. I've already done a lot of my Christmas shopping. We don't buy huge things to give each other. Maybe it's our ages, I just turned 60 and my hubby is 61. I would just like some flowers or a new watch for Christmas and not an expensive watch. If I don't get either of these things...it doesn't matter. My husband and I really just need to sell a bunch of stuff from his mom's house that we cleaned out 3 years ago!
I have a niece who is homeless because of some stupid decisions made by her and her husband who I am trying to help by driving her my niece(23 years old) to work and babysitting her 2 and 3 year old kids. They - the children -are temporarily living at my mom's house here in Allen, TX. I'm exhausted on the days I rise at 5:50 am to drive her to be at work by 6:30 am. Please pray for guidance and blessings to be extended to my two great nieces by their parents finding a car to buy and getting jobs. It's a difficult situation for my 83 year old mom.(She raised this niece from 1st grade on and she is not grateful for the help she is being given because my mom will not let the husband live in her house)

In Korea you and your husband are considered in the sixth grade. I'm still in fourth grade for a couple more years. I really don't have much saved for retirement so I hope I can work the rest of my life. Except for a few conflicts with personalities, teaching here is pretty good. I wouldn't mind doing it until I'm 70 if I can.
Material things really don't matter and just become an addition to the landfill. Our kids are growing up but still want LEGO. After two years we get all the pieces mixed up and can't build the models anymore. We also have too many old clothes. My oldest son is bigger than me now so he wears some of my old clothes but he will grow out of them soon.
I know fatigue. I have had a lot going on but haven't forgotten about you guys. Wow... there is a ton to give thanks for. At 23 humbleness is the most important factor to keeping a job. I can see the light through all this. Although these GREAT nieces are 2 and 3 your influence is precious and the security they need. Read to them if possible. Great nieces need the great book.
I will pray for guidance and blessing and the right care for your niece.
I was wondering how your mom was getting along. I don't know the exact situation about the husband but in the time of need there are some very generous people we should never forget.

Well, @mineopoly, you are not going to believe this, but something happened and moved my Mom to improve the situation for the children, the husband herself and me. After my mom's church service and eating her lunch on Sunday, my mom came to the decision that the husband could move into the house to take care of his kids. We all had a long talk about it in my livingroom. It's a God thing really, that's all it is. I've been praying and praying for how this situation could be better. Seriously Chris I just poured out my heart on Steemit to you and then prayed off and on about how this could be better. My mom really wants it to be a temporary thing, like 4 months or something. I don't know why I'm telling you all this, I just feel like I know you are a Christian and might pray for all this. Anyway, the bottom line is for the last 48 hours life has felt more calm... I bought a sketch pad two days ago and started sketching everything. My youngest son likes to vandelize my sketches expecially the ones I drew of his mom. He puts things like, "look at her butt" or he draws a big circle in the abdomen area, horns and a mustache and beard. After he got bored with that he took the sketch pad from me and started doing his own sketches.
Lessons learned:
I can never get him to write one sentence but when he wrote twelve.
He is never confident about his drawings but when he sees my stuff he naturally wants to draw. We learn from the example not the lecture. The older we get the harder it is to get out of our habits and fixed ideas. It is really the work of God to move one person's heart. This I praise God for.
I watched the movie "Hidden Figures" with my boys and my son asked, "aren't all people 'colored'?" I told him of course that classification by color of skin is not an adequate description of a person but that all of us should be colorful. Anyway the point is as a foreigner I feel a lot like the main character at work. She tried her best but there was always someone making things difficult for her because she was different. This happens when we work with people anywhere. I pray for grace to your mom. For your niece humility and patience and thanksgiving.
As for Daniel I kind of figured the suburban photos he has been posting from his "hometown neighborhood" are not from China. Oh I just got Daniel's message in discord. I will keep in touch.
