Sonder the Reef of Actualization (Poetry Slam 14)

in #dsound6 years ago (edited)

In the Age of Aquarius

A story of a little fish
Takes center stage
In a reef of dreams
And sea anemones

Little Fish acquires pectoral fins
Little Fish swims
The center of every ocean wave
His school and family become accessory

Turtles have no pain
As they float aimlessly by
Dolphins are magical creatures
Like gods in the sky

Plankton too small to notice
Become lunch for an orca’s dish
None of this craziness
Ever really mattered to Little Fish

Until he noticed her

Like Siddhartha he sat by the wave side
And dreamed of Sonder

She felt him like he felt her
So natural and pure
An understanding grew
Of the ocean so deep

Turtles, dolphins, plankton too
Each had their own story
As they float in the blue

Just as Sonder touched him
He knew there was Sonder in this blur
Connecting each of us in an ocean web

Each fish has its story
So intricate and detailed
But incomplete without each other

Little Fish fades into the background

And your story begins
A little fish among the crowd
Of so many lives before you

Noticed and unnoticed
Like a blur of traffic
At a crowded train station

You take one step forward
into the reef of actualization

QTTA: (QUESTION TO THINK ABOUT)

When do we really realize that everyone has a story that is just as heavy as ours and we are part of theirs but only in the background?

I love you all.

We are all connected whether we like it or not. Well expressed in your poems. Christopher. You are getting there in the 100 day poetry competition. ❤️

Thanks for all the encouragement. I actually have no idea how to write a poem everyday but I got a lot of poems written. Some were better than others :-)

Thanks for reminding me. I did see your posts and was wondering what was going on. Now I can see. And thanks for the invitation.

I love that way you teach so much, as a good teacher you are. I applaud you, @mineopoly!

Thank you @zeleiracordero. We are all little fish swimming in a big fish pond.

Well penned. I especially like the first set of lines.

Thank you for reading @momzillanc. I see what you mean. There is a jump in middle of the poem that may come to some as a surprise. I'm learning a lot through writing and interacting.

I really feel sympathy for this little fish, @mineopoly. Thank you for this thoughtful piece! It is good to be reminded of the relevance of all stories :-)
