Outside (An Original Poem)
Outside
Right now I'm inside,
opening the shades.
Sunlight hits my face
inviting me to run
through the meadow,
But I'm inside,
watching.
Right now I'm inside
looking out the window.
The trees rustle in the
wind.
The butterflies fly
between flowers.
But I'm inside,
watching.
Right now I'm inside,
peeking through the
screen.
The sun casts patterns on
the grass.
The old swings slowly
rocks.
But I'm inside,
watching.
Right now I'm inside,
opening the door.
I heard the birds softly
chirp,
I smell the air, fresh and
sweet.
But I'm inside,
watching.
Right now I'm outside,
running through the grass.
The soft blades tickle my
feet.
The wind blows my hair
out of my face.
And I'm outside,
finally.
