Can you imagine perfect connection of the books and journey? Book like some kind of spirit travel and traveling around the world like a reading. How can you connect these two things? I have answer. Take 30 minutes of your time and read this article where I will present you one place from paradise – paradise of books. When I say paradise, I really think that. You are feeling like a world around you doesn’t exist, because you can dream there your own personal dream – dream of one big library with millions of different stories. All those stories have something with you and they are about you, because every book is about us.

How to travel through the Museum of book?   

Two days ago I come to the Museum of books and first what I sow is one big white house who doesn’t look like a library, but in the end it turned out that is one the most beautiful libraries where I  have ever been. That library is separated in several parts, every part is representing one continent. Secret passes are shelves which you have to open in a wall if you want to continue your journey. In each of those rooms you have a lot of authentic objects and books from all over the world. This can be one small Babilon library where are collected a lot of different knowledge from a different periods of history. This journey can be journey around the world, but first it is journey across the time. You can touch book old thousands of years and books from the other part of world. There you have  a lot of small secret passes, corridors, forbidden rooms, magical object. Everything is like in fairy tale, you need your own guide to be able to pass from one room to the another. In each wall you can see something worth for Serbian and from world culture. I didn’t tell you that this place is in Serbia? Doesn’t matter, we are on travel. Specific thing is that very valiabble object are hidden on the shelves where you couldn’t see them if somebody doesn’t tell you. That is magic of travel - searching for hidden places. They told us in the entrance: don’t take photos of a secret passes, that is just for our eyes. Yes, everything is like that: mysterious and magical. Here you can see one part of magic.      

  What you can see there?   

  If you are book lover, everything what you love, you can find there. Millions of books in different materials, from different ages of human history. Thousands of autographs and original manuscripts of famous writer and artist, making this place one of the big libraries in Serbia. In every step you are feeling that somebody is waiting for you, hidden in shelves full of big knowledge and great beauty. If you want to choose what is here the most valuable, you will have problem. But yes, there are a few really specific things.

  Here in down right corner, you can see a drawing painted by an elephant. Somewhere in the Africa exists schools for elephants where they are learning to paint. The best of them made this drawing. In the middle of this photo, you can see special book made from bamboo three. This book is from one Confucian monastery in China, where he serves as a prayer. On the top of this photo, is prayer from Sri Lanca. Here you can find rice book (somebody say that is really tasty), book made of elephant jet, the smallest book in the world, books made of bones. Here, books are not magical just because they are books, they are magical because of its shapes. On the shelves you can find dolls who can kill you, because they are taken from the theatre and now they are angry.  One part of those million books are reserved for legates of Serbian artist and writers. Here you can find personal things of more than 40 artistic, including legates of Miodrag Pavlovic, Pero Zubac, Milovan Danojlic, Pavle Vujisic. If you couldn’t  recognize those name, believe me, they are really deserving for our culture.

  Feel the spirit of books  

In the entrance, curator is giving you one book to smell. In that way you can estimate her age. That’s the point. Feel the smell of million books and in that moment you will be able to understand her ages. Books doesn’t have ages, because they are immortal, but in every book is living spirit of her soul. In Asian room exist two protectors of this temple, they are protecting time and space in this place. They are from another continent, but they are here because of the magic and because they are on the journey.  Who is creates his personal journey in this place? His name is Viktor Lazic and he is 31 years old man from Serbia. He collected those books all his life. He is collecting them in Serbia and in his travels. He visit until now, more than 80 countries. His life is that: spirit journey in books and real journey in the space.
