Magical place in Balkan

I want to tell you the story about one magical place. Believe me that it’s magical. I was there million of times and always I was ready to cry and ready to be the happiness person in the world. Why is that? I don’t know, maybe because of the silence. Name of that place is St. George’s Church in Topola, Serbia, southeast Balkan. Topola is one small city, but place full of history, nature and place where Serbian kings was living. That what is magical, I am not sure that it can be described with words, but maybe magic it’s somewhere around the word – in sound. You can ask me, why you are speaking about sound, if you started with silent. I will answer you with sentence written by one Serbian poet. He said: In silent you can hear the most magical sound. You have to come in this place and you will see what I am talking about. Until that moment, I will tell you my story about three symbols of this place: Colors, silence and light.

15 thousand different varieties of color creating new world

Can you see those beautiful colorful world? Here you can find 15 thousand different varieties of color and 40 million pieces of mosaic. Those colors are strong and they are sending big message about that how world of sky is connected with world of humans. There is a story about byzantine blue. I am always watching that color in churches and thinking about that what it can be. Why the blue color is color of kings? Symbol of byzantine art is blue. Here in this church, you can find blue everywhere. Except blue, here you can find a lot of golden color. People are telling, that every place in this church where you see yellow, it’s actually gold. So, blue and gold, in 15 thousand different varieties and 40 million pieces of mosaic make this church one of the most colorful places in the world. What is presented with those colors? Here you can find 60 copies of frescoes from the most famous Serbian monasteries, from the middle ages. Frescos are composed to present big and famous Serbian history. Here you can find very interesting composition of frescos where Serbian kings are painted with his own foundation. On the left wall is frescos of the King Petar and St. George’s - protector of the temple.
I was always thinking about that, how big drama is happening here. Thousands faces of saints making story bigger than world. Those faces are colored, because world is like that, full of colors and full of life. This church can be microcosmos of the world. Always when I am there I have some kind of feeling that I am staying under the sky, but surrounded with all world in one small place. Temple can be the world. Those 15 thousand different varieties of color confirm that.

In the silent you can hear the most magical sound

Now, we have to repeat words of serbian poet, from the beginning of this article. He sad: In the silent you can hear the most magical sound. That sound I am trying to hear every time when I come there. The point is that you have to be really concentrated on your mind if you want to hear something what is not reality but it has to become reality for yourself. You have to become concentrated in spirit of your soul, even if you are not really religions. I am thinking that each person is religious in some way. If you are not believing in God, you can believe in infinity, in flower, in art, in love. On my opinion, you are religious person if you can believe in something with all our soul and body. We wanted to speak about sound and we finish in religion. That is not bad way, because end of silent is living in feelings and religion is true feeling. Here, in this temple, you have impression that you can hear music of space. That is not music made my man, that is music made by cosmos. So, if you ever come here just try to be silent few moments and you will see how your mind will make other dimension of been. That would be music, our own music without other people, problems and bad thinking. You will be clear and it would be sign that you are filled.

Light was born here

Presence of light is a sign that evil is not here. Light is good part of our personality. Try to be under the light and you will see that you can change yourself. In this temple I am always thinking that light was born here. From the ceiling she falls and expand on the space. Because of that light, space become bigger. In one moment, you feel like in the sky, your body is easy and your spirit full of energy. Colours and light are creating some kind of special connection. Colours are overflowing on the light and becomes different. Every time when you come here, you are attending in new frescos work. Faces of saints are changing, but in the same time, they remain the same. What kind of light is that? If you are religious, you will say that is light from the God, if you are not believer, you can say that is light of beauty.
In the end, I will just say: Coming here is some kind of meeting with our soul, meeting with love marked like a beauty.
