Through my camera: Night in Belgrade
Hello,
This is another post in through my camera series, but a little more different than previous. Last few evenings I have spent wondering through Belgrade streets and playing with my camera. I thought that photographing is a simple task, just go out, and take pictures of anything you see, but I am starting to realize how hard is it to make a good picture. As taking a photo is just a halfway towards good photography I started to learn how to edit them in Adobe Lightroom, and after few nights of wondering in cold nights and hours in front of the laptop, I am deeply disappointed with all photos I've taken. They looked much better on camera's display than on laptop screen. I am thinking about buying a new camera, but maybe it is not a solution. My Canon PowerShot is not strong as DSLR cameras and does not have options or different modes like them, but for an amateur like me it is still a very nice camera. So I am now between love and hate with it.
When I was kid I had a strange habit to make a bonds with some objects and now I feel like a child because somehow I like my Canon, and it would be hard for me to sell or replace it, I fell that if I buy a new DSLR it would be like I am cheating on my camera :D
Let's go back to my * photographer's career*. To be honest, even though I am not satisfied with my work I see an improvement. Although I expected better photos they are still a lot better than my older works. I am figuring out how to properly set ISO, what is an aperture, I am starting to pay attention to light conditions and exposure... Maybe this dissatisfaction is the result of my ambition, I would be nice if I am right, but I don't believe so :D
So, I decided to make three different parts of this post, I sorted photos in three ways. First, there are a few architectural photos, just some of the old houses I have found... Second part are some nice buildings, they are all almost all-white so I tried to make some black-white contrast, and the third part are some panoramic views. Also, there are two photos of passages in Belgrade fortress. Hope you will like my photos, all suggestions are welcome (:
These three photos I took in one of the most famous streets in Belgrade, Skadarlija. It represents one of the tourist attractions because it is full of traditional taverns, and everything in that streets looks like time stopped there, and you can feel the spirit of the 19th century. So it was like a funny for me, because street, as always, was full of tourists with cameras, and there were a lot of sellers that wanted to persuade me to try some traditional Serbian food so I pretend that I am an alien, and whatever they said to me in English or Serbian I was just answering Don't understand, I don't speak English nor Serbian.
Hallways of Belgrade fortress are really inspiring for me. I believe that I will make one post made of only such kind of photos. Also, there are a lot of underground tunnels beneath the fortress, they represent some kind of urban mystery, but I am planning to take some underground tour that is usually organized for tourists or some curious students like me.
These photos I took on Branko's bridge on Sava river
This is view on New Belgrade from Kalemegdan fortress.
Hope you will like it, if you do, please, comment, upvote and follow,

You seem like you're doing pretty well even with the limited gear and beginner's knowledge of DSLR technicalities. Great work.
Thanks a lot (:
