Rebellion is the basic principle of this world, while the basic principle of the children of God is obedience. To obey God and submit to His authority is the duty of every believer.

AUTHORITY

All authority belongs to God, but God has two ways of exercising His authority.

1. Direct authority. This means that God tells us directly through His Word or through the Holy Spirit what He wants us to do.

2. The delegated authority. This means that God chooses certain people to represent him and exercise his authority.

God not only guides us personally, but also directs us through His delegated authority. Parents, teachers, police, chiefs, governors, etc. they are delegated authorities.

Since a delegated authority is someone who represents the authority of God, that person must be obeyed. Being disrespectful or disobedient to the authority delegated by God is similar to being disrespectful or disobedient to God Himself.

saying, Give me this authority also, so that everyone on whom I place my hands may receive the Holy Spirit. Acts 8:19
