Today's offering is a 2 1/2 Gulden crown sized coin from the Netherlands . This lovely 38 mm coin is made of .72 % silver and weighs 25 grams . There was 6,320,000 of these coins produced between 1929 and 1940 ! Wilhelmina Helena Pauline Maria, (31 August 1880 – 28 November 1962) was queen of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 1890 to 1948. She was much loved by the Dutch people . She was the mother of Queen Juliana and grand-mother of current queen Queen Beatrix. In WW2 she flew to London. She spoke to the Dutch people on radio from England.
The obverse of this coin coin has a bust of Queen Wilhelmina facing to the left with the words WILHELMINA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN written in Dutch ! They translate to Wilhemina Queen of the Netherlands in English .

The reverse of the coin features the crowned crest of The Netherlands flanked by 2 1/2 G with mint mark on bottom right ( caduceus) and privy mark on bottom left(seahorse) .The words MUNT VAN HET KONINGRIJKDER NEDERLANDEN
which translates to COIN OF THE KINGDOM OF NETHERLANDS, and the date at the bottom .

The edge of this coin has incuse lettering that says GOD ZIJ MET ONS ,God be with us in English !
