Kyoto trip Ginkakuji🍁京都銀閣寺紅葉🍁

After looking at the beautiful gardens at Nanzenji, we took a stroll along the tetsugakudomichi or Philosopher's Road. This is a small, quiet road along the eastern side of Kyoto at the foot of the mountains that passes many famous temples. There are small cafes, restaurants and craft shops along the route which runs by a small stream through a tastefully high class residential area. The walk ends at Ginkakuji
Which means "Silver Temple". Unlike Kinkakuji in western Kyoto where the pavilion is covered in gold, the pavilion here isn't covered in silver. Nevertheless there are beautiful gardens including a stone garden with a strikingly disconcerting mud pie shaped mound of white gravel.
