As someone a little more than twice your age, I would say the biggest thing you need to do to be happy, is to be honest with yourself, and with others.

Second is to learn the difference between blame and responsibility. If you are in a situation which is not of your doing, or not your "fault", it is still your "responsibility" to take the next step.

Third is to learn about negotiation, and how humans work. This is not taught and certainly not encouraged as, lets face it, if you can't negotiate, you're that much easier to control and be made to comply, even it its against your own best interest.
